MIJIKENDA TOLD NOT TO TRIBALISE PORT OF MOMBASA

The Taita Taveta Community has defended the appointments made by Uhuru Kenyatta as balanced and in the right direction and said it is unfortunate for the Mijikenda elders to criticise the appointment of Mazden Madoka as chairman of Kenya Ports Authority.
The community led by the secretary general of Taita Community Council of elders Association Peter Mambembe said it was laughable for the Mijikenda leaders to claim that the president was wrong to appoint Madoka as chairman of KPA because he is not a Mijikenda.
The leaders were quoted in a section of the media saying the president should have appointed a Mijikenda as chairman of KPA instead of  Madoka who hails from Taita Taveta.
The said the leaders were led by their vice chairman Shaban New and secretary general Willy Tsuma further added that their community is not satisfied with the appointments saying that they expected to be rewarded adding that they had agreed with the president in a memorandum of understanding that the head of state would appoint a Mijikenda as chairman of KPA.
