Ruto, Kuttuny bitter wars engulf Trans Nzoia

Kalenjin communities in Trans Nzoia county are scratching their heads seeking the way forward on how to end the differences between their leaders that have been bubbling in Rift Valley ahead of 2017 general elections.
Addressing the press in Kitale town, county youth leader George Bitok said DP William Ruto should identify where the disunity among leaders is emanating from and bring harmony among leaders rather than attacking one another at public functions. Bitok said Ruto’s advisers are the ones misleading him on what is happening in Rift Valley.
Bitok defended State House political adviser Joshua Kuttuny saying that the former MP  has no differences with the DP and he does not know why Ruto has been attacking Kuttuny and linking him with the bubbling politics  in Rift Valley  come 2017. He urged Ruto to call for a Kalenjin meeting and  work out a formula to  solve the differences he has with other leaders in Rift Valley that might cost him politically in 2017.
Bitok was referring to allegations made by Ruto that his political opponents want him to be jailed for his alleged role in 2007-2008 post-election violence. Ruto had made the statement twice in Nakuru and during a burial at Kabobo farm in his Uasin Gishu county that Baringo senator Gideon Moi,  Bomet governor Isaac Rutto and Kuttuny are praying that the International Criminal Court finds him guilty.   The two, he said, were  working together to ensure they have a say in Rift Valley before the next general election.
Separately, the Sabaots community in Trans Nzoia county has dismissed Gideon and Governor Ruto’s politics in Rift Valley saying it is aimed to divide the Kalenjin communities in the next general election.
Speaking to press after the community meeting, Andrew Kipekee said the community intends to support the deputy presidents party and said those moving around saying that Jubilee has abandoned the Sabaot community as they threaten to move from URP to Kanu are lying and it is individual decision and not the community’s.
He said they will support the DP to the end saying Sabaots are in government. He cautioned individuals moving around as they tarnish URP party’s name to stop. Kipekee said Sabaots and Kalenjin communities do not recognise Gideon  Governor Ruto and challenged them to  sober and support the deputy president in Rift Valley politics, adding that they will not go far with their divisive politics that they have started in Rift Valley. He asked Sabaot community not to be cheated by individuals seeking political attention.
On county issues, Kipekee challenged Kinyoro ward rep Gilbert Kitiyo to perform or face the voter’s wrath in the next elections. He accused Kitiyo for disbursing bursary on indiscriminately instead of using the balancing act. He said residents want to feel the national cake and the fruits of devolution as he will not keep silent while people of Kinyoro are in problems including poor and impassable roads in the area of Sango and Kisawai urging residents in future to elect leaders who are performers.
Gideon’s party is becoming stronger in Rift Valley  which  includes Trans Nzoia threatening URP supporters. Kanu is planning to recruit more members in the county that might sweep away URP if something is not done within the top echelons of URP.
