Ward rep opens battlefront with Guv Ruto

Kipkorir Rono

Residents of Cheptalal ward in Bomet county have warned their member of county assembly who has made a tendency of wasting too much time politicking and attacking Bomet governor Isaac Ruto during a tour to the ward.
Robert Serbai is on record in all his meetings in his ward attacking the governor an issue that has made the ward to lag behind in development.
Recently during a meeting at Taboino in his ward, he   accused Ruto of sabotaging him during the visit but the governor told him to look for a different forum.
According to those who were in the meeting, the governor told Serbai that it was not hard for him to take development to other areas if the ward does not require county government development.
“We warn him to desist from attacking our governor and instead tell us what he has done for us,” a furious resident said.
During the incident at Taboino, Serbai with his supporters told Ruto to give him time to speak yet it was a ward development forum organised by county government.
Ruto was touring the ward where he donated Sh1 million for cooperatives.
Ruto being the governor of Bomet county is the only leader enjoying support in the county.
A resident said Ruto is also a senior politician in Kipsigis community and those who are first timers as elected leaders do not compete with him politically.
As 2017 politics approaches, it is not easy for those who will be competing with Ruto for the post of gubernatorial  seat, some opine.
Former Konoin MP Julius Kones is the man to watch after he lost to Ruto in the last general elections.
Kones is still vocal and is earning a name since he has no time attacking his opponents but his of late doing silent networking with the aim of being the next county boss.
