WETANGULA, WAMALWA TO MEET IN ANOTHER BY-ELECTION

The political rivalry and war of supremacy that has characterised politics in the larger Bungoma county and by extension to the neghbouring Trans Nzoia county comes back into play as the two parade their lieutenants yet again for another battle during the forthcoming Mutumbei by-election whose date is expected to be announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission
Senator majority leader Moses  Wetang’ula and Ford Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa have no love lost between them since they parted ways which saw Wamalwa form New Ford Kenya to rival Ford Kenya.
The Mutumbei by-elections was occasion by the death of Ronald Matongolo who passed on. He was on New Ford Kenya of Wamalwa. The last time the two parties were involved in a civic battle was in Webuye where Wamalwa’s candidate triumphed over Wetangula’s one.
Already in Mutumbei ward, the two parties are laying strategies with their forces on the ground to identify formidable candidates. It is said Ford Kenya may decide to field a new face unlike in 2013 race.
During the burial of the late civic leader,  Wetang’ula declared he will vie for presidency come 2017.
Wetang’ula said that the three principals of Cord, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and himself will go for the primaries when time comes and the person who will be elected by delegates will be the flagbearer to face the Jubilee.
Wetang’ula told Endebess MP  Robert Pukose, women representative Janet Nang’abo, Saboti MP David Lazaro, Wamalwa and Noah Wekesa to stop deceiving residents that the government  will tarmac roads in Trans Nzoia county.
He called for sobriety when addressing national matters adding that there were no funds in this financial year to tarmac Kitale-Suam road, Kitale-Kolongolo road,Barbaton-Saboti among other roads that were being mentioned  by Jubilee supporters in Trans Nzoia and urged residents to do away with leaders of such calibre who thrive on falsehoods and sleaze and who have been paid to scare them because of the referendum.
“I had confirmed from the engineer concerned with roads in Kenya and that there are no funds that have been allocated to construct roads in the county and I was not alone. Your senator Henry Ole Ndiema and Senator Mukite confirmed this and I have documents to show,” he claimed.
He asked why Jubilee has not appointed even a single Sabaoti to its government if it is not tribalism. He asked Jubilee to give Wamalwa and Wekesa jobs  so that the two can stop making unnecessary noise to attract Jubilee handouts.
